Scripture References: John 8:31-32, 34-36, Romains 6: 12-14, and James 5:16

John 8:31-32, 34-36
So Jesus said unto the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.

Romains 6:12-14
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will not have dominion over you, since you are not under the law but under grace.

Are you still struggling with a distorted view of yourself, Dieu, or others? When did that start for you?

It takes years and perhaps decades of hard work to undo the damage that was done to us as children, teens, and young adults.

How can we be set free to live the abundant life Jesus came to give us?

I’d like to share four keys that can help you be set free.

1.) I believe we need to confess sin daily.

Some questions to take to heart:

  • What are my motives?
  • Why am I so easily offended?
  • Why am I being taken advantage of by others?
  • Why can’t I say no?
  • Why am I fearful or anxious when I have to speak to a certain person?

When we have been mistreated, abused, or neglected or have an abortion in our past, we develop deep wounds which distort our thinking and emotional development. It’s only God who can help us heal in those areas and grow to our full potential.

I heard this statement, but I do not know who coined it:

“If you want to be forgiven, confess your sins to God. If you want to change, confess your sins to another person so they can help you be accountable."

James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins one to another and pray one to another that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

2.) I feel a personal quiet time with the Lord is essential.

It’s hard for some of us to trust anyone, even God. Slowly, as you spend time with God, in His word, He will reveal His heart towards you. You will begin to see how much He does love you and how He cares about every part of your life. He never tires to hear about what’s going on in your life. He never slumbers. He is always available any time, day or night. That gives me great comfort knowing God is always there for me because so many people have let me down over the years. But God is always faithful.

3.) Sharing your story in a safe environment (such as our conference call) is therapeutic and condusive to healing.

It’s important for our healing that we can share our stories with others in a safe and loving environment without judgment. Once we do that, our secrets no longer have power over us.

By sharing our stories with each other, we can pray and encourage each other on our healing journey. You are not alone; that is a lie from the devil.

4.) We must be willing to do the hard work.

I am constantly reading books to help me heal and facilitate a healing group where women feel loved and safe. Our learning, healing and equipping is an ongoing process that will continue until the day we see Jesus. God is still healing me when I allow Him and the Holy Spirit to speak truth into my life. I have to be consciously listening to Him. Speak to God all day long. He is listening and waiting for you to call out to Him.

If you do these four things, it will help you to be set free in every area of your life.

Luc1:26–38, 1 John 1:9, Deutéronome 22:20–21, et les romains 8:28

Dans le livre de Luc, nous lisons à propos d'une adolescente incroyablement courageuse nommée Mary. Mary était un nom commun à l'époque; cela signifiait amer. Le peuple était amer parce que les prophètes se sont tus pendant 400 années. Il n'y a pas eu de révélation du tout entre l'Ancien Testament et le Nouveau Testament pendant tout ce temps. Ils se sont sentis amers parce qu'ils pensaient que Dieu les avait oubliés et Sa promesse de leur Messie.

On voit cet incroyable dialogue entre Marie et l'ange Gabriel. Il lui a dit, "Réjouis-toi hautement favorisé, le seigneur est avec toi; bénie es-tu entre les femmes! N'ayez pas peur, Marie, car tu as trouvé grâce auprès de Dieu. Il se mit à lui dire qu'elle concevrait et enfanterait un fils et appellera son nom Jésus. Dieu a puissamment utilisé cette jeune femme pour enfanter le Messie promis, Emmanuel—Dieu avec nous. Au lieu de fuir sa situation ou de paniquer, elle a prié et recherché la conduite du Seigneur. Pourquoi n'avons-nous pas fait confiance à Dieu lorsque nous nous sommes retrouvés avec des grossesses non planifiées? Si vous Lui avez confessé ce péché, Il t'a pardonné. 1 John 1:9: « Si nous confessons nos péchés, Il est fidèle et juste pour nous pardonner notre péchés et pour nous purifier de toute iniquité ».

Mary aurait pu être lapidée parce qu'elle était enceinte hors mariage parce que c'était la loi à l'époque. Deutéronome 22:20–21 parle des lois relatives aux péchés sexuels. Non seulement Mary aurait pu être lapidée, mais Joseph, son mari, aurait pu abandonner la relation en rédigeant une lettre de divorce parce qu'ils étaient légalement fiancés l'un à l'autre. Mais Dieu a protégé Marie de ces deux conséquences parce qu'elle avait ne pas péché. Elle a été fécondée surnaturellement par le Saint-Esprit de Dieu. Elle était si courageuse et courageuse. Elle a risqué sa vie et sa réputation pour obéir à Dieu. Quel beau témoignage nous voyons dans sa vie.

Cette semaine sera 41 ans depuis que j'ai avorté mon fils, Joseph, en décembre 10, 1980. J'aimerais avoir le courage comme Mary d'avoir mon bébé, mais j'ai laissé la peur de l'homme me pousser à avorter mon bébé. Je ne peux pas changer mon passé, mais je peux apprendre de mes erreurs. Dieu a utilisé mon avortement pour me mettre dans une relation avec Jésus. À présent, J'ai l'insigne honneur de marcher avec vous tous dans vos voyages de guérison. Dieu a certainement pris mes cendres, mes horribles péchés, et les a transformés en quelque chose de beau pour mon bien et sa gloire, et vous en faites tous partie. Je crois que Dieu fait que toutes choses concourent au bien de ceux qui l'aiment, à ceux qui sont appelés selon son dessein (Romains 8:28). Dieu, par l'oeuvre du Saint-Esprit, nous sanctifie continuellement et nous conforme à l'image de Jésus. Vous êtes tous si précieux pour lui; J'espère que vous le savez.

  2. T'accroches-tu toujours à ton secret de l'avortement(s)?
  3. Avez-vous permis à Dieu d'accéder à tous vos endroits brisés afin qu'il puisse vous guérir? Sinon, faites-lui confiance aujourd'hui. Il veut que tu sois guérie et entière afin que tu puisses devenir la femme qu'il a créée pour que tu sois.

My Letter to My Baby

Dear Joseph,

My precious child, I have loved you all of my adult life, and yet, I have never seen your face or held you in my arms. For that, I am very sorry. You were a gift from God, and I threw you away. I am so sorry for ending your life. God showed me what you look like. I saw a young man in his 30s on an airplane, and he had brown curly hair and blue eyes. I felt my spirit quicken. I whispered to the Lord, “Is that what my son looks like?” I felt the confirmation in my spirit.

I named you Joseph because what the enemy meant for evil, God turned around for my good and for His glory. He exchanged my ashes for something beautiful. Joseph, you inspired a ministry called My Ashes to Beauty to help other moms heal from their past abortions.

I know you are in heaven with Jesus—a place where there is no sadness, douleur, or sorrow. I can’t wait for the day that I can see you face to face in heaven where we will be together forever. I have pictured that scene over and over in my mind. I see you greeting me in heaven. I know you and you know me. We hug. With tears of joy streaming down my cheeks, you kiss me and I say, “I have waited for this moment for so long. Now we will never be parted again. I love you, Joseph.” You respond, “I love you, Mom.” Then, I will look to Jesus and thank Him for this precious gift of being reunited with my child in heaven and for the gift of salvation He gave me.

Now what I would give for one more day with you Joseph (your child or children’s names).
Cause there’s a wound here in my heart where something’s missing. And they tell me that it’s gonna heal with time. But I know you’re in a better place where you are healed and whole and I will be too.

Luc 8:43-48 (NKJV)
maintenant une femme, avoir un flux de sang pendant douze ans, qui avait dépensé tout son gagne-pain en médecins et ne pouvait être guérie par aucun, est venu par derrière et a touché la frontière (la frange) de son vêtement. Et immédiatement son flux sanguin s'est arrêté. Et Jésus a dit, "Qui m'a touché?"Quand tous l'ont nié, Peter et ceux qui étaient avec lui ont dit, "Maître, les multitudes se pressent et te pressent, et tu dis, 'Qui m'a touché?’» Mais Jésus dit, "Quelqu'un m'a touché, car j'ai perçu une puissance sortant de moi. Maintenant, quand la femme vit qu'elle n'était pas cachée, elle est venue tremblante; et tomber devant Lui, elle lui déclara en présence de tout le monde la raison pour laquelle elle l'avait touché et comment elle fut immédiatement guérie.. Et il lui dit, "Fille, être de bonne humeur; ta foi t'a guéri. Vas en paix."

Nous, les femmes après un avortement, pouvons comprendre ce que cette femme a dû endurer pendant tant d'années.. Nous aussi, nous savons ce que c'est que de dépenser toutes sortes d'argent pour des choses qui ne nous ont pas guéris.. Certains d'entre nous ont consommé de la drogue et de l'alcool pour se soigner de la douleur que nous avions endurée pendant si longtemps.. Beaucoup d'entre nous ont consulté des médecins et des thérapeutes pour les aider à guérir les dommages que nos avortements nous ont causés dans de nombreux domaines de notre vie.. Nous savons ce que c'est que de souffrir seul, être isolé des autres, et se sentir désespéré et déprimé. Nous cherchions désespérément un remède mais rien n'a fonctionné, jusqu'à ce que nous en soyons fatigués de simplement exister et que nous voulions la vie abondante que Jésus a promis que nous pourrions avoir. C'est alors que nous avions presque abandonné tout espoir que nous avons rencontré notre Sauveur, Jésus., notre guérisseur. Nous avons tout risqué, juste pour toucher l'ourlet de son vêtement parce que nous savions que si nous le faisions, alors nous serions guéris. Nous avons risqué d'être exposés parce que nous savions que Lui seul pouvait nous guérir.

Il faut de la foi en Dieu et du courage pour sortir et toucher le vêtement de Jésus afin d’être guéri.. Je prie pour que Dieu continue de vous guider dans ce voyage de guérison et que vous deveniez fort dans le Seigneur., afin que nous puissions amener plus de femmes dans ce ministère de guérison. Puissions-nous continuer à être ses mains et ses pieds dans ce monde.

Quelles sont certaines des choses que vous avez essayées dans le passé pour vous aider à faire face à la douleur de votre avortement ??
L'alcool et les drogues m'ont permis d'échapper à ma douleur. J'étais tellement fatigué de porter un masque et de prétendre que ma vie était parfaite. Après un certain temps, Je ne pouvais tout simplement pas bien fonctionner du tout. Ma vie s'effondrait, ma santé était défaillante, et mon mariage était sur le point de divorcer. J'étais dans un profond état de désespoir et de dépression. Je voulais juste arrêter ce tourment d'une vie, mais je ne pouvais pas quitter mon 2 enfants sans maman. Je me sentais désespéré et je voulais mourir jusqu'au jour où j'ai rencontré Jésus. Il était si gentil et aimant avec moi. Quand j'ai entendu l'Évangile pour la première fois à l'intérieur 4 semaines, J'ai couru vers Jésus, j'ai embrassé ses pieds et je l'ai remercié d'avoir soulagé ma douleur et de m'aimer.. Je n'ai jamais connu un amour pareil auparavant.

Quand avez-vous finalement eu le courage de toucher le vêtement de Jésus pour guérir?

Dans 2010, après avoir à nouveau souffert d'une grave dépression, je voulais mourir. Je pleurais sur mon lit et j'ai dit au Seigneur, "Je ne peux plus faire ça; tu ne peux pas juste me ramener à la maison?" J'ai entendu le Saint-Esprit murmurer, "Me fais-tu confiance?" J'ai dit, "Oui Seigneur, Je te fais confiance." "Croyez-vous que je peux changer les choses pour de bon?" J'ai dit, "Oui Seigneur, Je crois que tu peux." Il a dit, "Alors fais-moi confiance." Immédiatement après ça, J'ai le nom d'un ministère, et j'ai commencé mon travail de rétablissement pour les enfants adultes issus de familles émotionnellement déconnectées.. C'était une haute responsabilité, groupe de soutien à la guérison intérieure auquel j'ai participé 5 années, et j'ai assisté à des réunions de récupération hebdomadaires. Cela m'a donné des outils et surtout, Je ne me sentais plus seul. Il y avait d'autres femmes qui ont lutté comme moi. Cela m'a permis de guérir de mon passé et de tous les comportements malsains que je tolérais de la part des autres.. J'ai appris les limites, est devenu fort, j'ai résisté aux intimidateurs pour la première fois de ma vie, et j'ai utilisé ma voix. J'ai appris à me voir comme Dieu me voit et j'ai finalement reçu son amour dans mon cœur.. Je n'ai jamais été le même. Merci, Jésus, pour avoir sauvé mon âme et m'avoir guéri.

Il n'y a pas d'amour plus grand que celui qu'un homme donne sa vie pour ses amis. John 15:13

Luc 23:44-46 Maintenant c'était la sixième heure (midi) et il y eut des ténèbres sur toute la terre jusqu'à la neuvième heure (3 PM). Puis le soleil s'est assombri, and the veil of the Temple was torn in two. And when Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last breath.

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour (3PM) Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Which is being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

I want us to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for each one of us. We will never know the immense pain He experienced not only physically but spiritually. On the hours that Jesus hung on the cross from 12 noon to 3 PM the whole earth was darkened, and so was the sun. God had forsaken His only Son when He bore all the sins of the world on His body. Jesus cries out, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” The word forsake in the Merriam-Webster dictionary means to renounce or turn away from entirely. Holy God darkened the earth for 3 hours because He could not look upon Jesus when He bore our sins upon Himself. The Bible says that Jesus became sin for us, who knew no sin. I read a commentary that said God caused the darkness so humans could not look upon Jesus and see the turmoil and agony that He went through on our behalf. It was a sacred sacrifice that only the Father could see. This was His perfect Lamb of God who was sacrificed for the sins of the whole world.

At the same time the veil in the Temple, between the Holy of Holies, was torn from top to bottom. The very hand of God tore the veil, giving us access to God through Jesus His Son. Jesus was the new and living way for us to go to God, we no longer had to go through a Priest to make atonement for our sins. Jesus paid for our sins so we could have free access to the Father by Him. This gives us, you and me, access to God anytime day or night, that we need Him. That is so comforting to know.

Now think of all the sins you have ever committed, they are too numerous to count, yet all of them have been covered by Jesus’ shed blood on the cross, if you have received the gift of salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross for your sins. If you are born again, the Bible says you are a new creation in Christ, old things are passed away behold all things become new. (2nd Corinthiens 5:17)

It is good Lord, to be reminded of the miraculous work you did in me when I became born-again. Thank you for forgiving all my sins, my rebellious actions, my drunkenness, drug usage, fornication, my abortion, my lying, stealing, my pride and my idol worship. All these I lay at your feet Jesus. I no longer have to carry these sins on my back. You have exchanged my sins for your righteousness. I am so grateful to you Lord, the day you had mercy on this broken woman and opened my eyes to see that what I was doing was not working and I needed you in my life. I surrendered my will and my life to you and confessed my sins and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. It was the most beautiful day of my life, February 6, 1994. A day I will always cherish.

Comment Dieu a-t-il utilisé votre douleur?

(2 Corinthiens 1:3-5)

Quand je suis venu à Christ à l'âge de 34, Je souffrais d'une grave dépression, douleur physique dans mes articulations et fatigue. J'ai demandé des réponses à plusieurs médecins, mais ils n'ont rien trouvé. Mes résultats de tests, Analyses CAT, MRIs and blood work all came back normal. I was perplexed. What is wrong with me? I now realize that my mental, emotional and health struggles were God’s way of getting my attention. Because of how poorly I felt, I couldn’t participate in my regular activities. It was during this time of suffering that God began drawing me to Himself.

How has God used suffering in your life to get your attention? In my case, God used my pain, weakness, fatigue and depression. God knows exactly how to reach all of us so that we turn to and focus on Him. God has always used my physical health issues to remind me to lean on Him. He uses suffering so that first, we will realize how much we need Him in our life and secondly, what kind of changes we need to make.

When I had the courage to trust God and finally wanted more than mere survival, God met me right where I was. God used my distress to bring me to Him. Even during my period of pain, God used me to help others. When I followed His lead by reaching out to those in need, I received even more healing for myself. Dans 2 Corinthiens 1:3-5, God’s Word says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted of God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.” (ESV) God never wastes our suffering. It is all for a specific purpose. Some of you dear ones have suffered for a long time, and my heart goes out to you. It can seem very lonely at times, but God sees you. He loves you and has a purpose for your pain.

Christ suffered a horrific death on the cross for us. He also endured torture having been scourged, beaten, slapped, hit with rods and pierced in his skull with a crown of thorns. If anyone is acquainted with anguish and pain, it is Jesus. Come to Jesus just as you are, and He will give you comfort. Only He can carry you when you can’t take another step. He is the only one who will never leave you. He will not abuse you or take advantage of you. His love is pure, holy, just and life-affirming. His ways lead to true freedom and healing.

What is God showing you?

One day, beloved, we will be in glory in a place called Heaven where there is no more pain, sorrow or crying—a place where we will be embraced by the peace and love of Jesus.
